I am no one special. Just a common man with common thoughts. I’ve led a common life. There are no monuments dedicated to me and my name will soon be forgotten, but in one respect I’ve succeeded as gloriously as anyone who ever lived. I’ve loved another with all my heart and soul and for me that has always been enough. ~ (James Garner as Duke in The Notebook, 2004).

There will be a monument dedicated to the one and only James Garner through the body of work he leaves behind as an actor as well as his service to his country as a soldier. Rest in peace x

CNN is an American news agency targeting the American people. Obviously they are going to state that an American was on the plane. It shows how global this issue is, teaches the citizens that events happening thousand of miles away can still impact them

it’s shocking how everything on tumblr is so selective and always so focused on the US. for example every year around 9/11 tumblr is flooded with posts about it although it was 13 years ago. but whenever horrible things happen somewhere else in the world at this very moment hardly anyone mentions it. it’s really sad to see that not just in every day media some lives are more important than others but that the same also happens on tumblr…

9/11 started a war that is still killing people today. It was, and is still today, the most tragic event in American history. This tradegy is comemerated annually to pay respects to not only those lost in the terrorist attacks, but also, those who have lost their lives fighting to defend the United States a world away. While you think that nobody is paying attention to the horrific events currently happening in the Middle East, Russia and Ukraine, world leaders from numerous countries have already condemned all the actions and the United Nations has called an emergency meeting to speak about the actions that they plan to take in the international community. Millions are holding tributes and calling for world peace, sending aid in anyway that they are able to. You need to open your eyes, people are not as blind as you are making them out to be.
